25Q in Melbourne

#5 / Melbourne Design Week / March 2020

The "25 Questions for Open Cities" exhibition was developed by Arup with support from the National Gallery of Victoria for Melbourne Design Week, March 2020.

In the light of the growing concerns around COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the exhibition in its proposed physical location.

Instead, we invite you to participate in the exploration of our collective city-making project by sharing your votes here through our digital twin:

Examples from 25Q for Open Cities:

  • Q14: Is community engagement more inclusive when the debate takes place online?
  • Q21: Should cities monitor the carbon footprint of citizens to levy individual taxes?
  • Q24: Is it acceptable to use recycled water from sewage in the urban environment?

Take the online survey:

The goal of ’25 Questions for an Open City’ is creating conversations about the role of technology in urban environments, how we balance individual and social needs and, ultimately, how we want to live together.

Why Melbourne Design Week?

How we design and talk about our cities fundamentally shapes our lives. And with Melbourne on track to be Australia’s most populated city by 2050, rapid digital change, an evolving built environment, and critical environmental pressures, there is a lot talk about.

We welcome you to contribute your views and look forward to sharing the results as they develop.
